La Salud Week of Cultural Resistance
Join La Salud in celebrating our annual Week of Cultural Resistance!!! (March 24th - March 27th)
Cultural Resistance is the practice of using cultural expressions like art, literature, and traditions to challenge dominant power structures, often in the face of oppression.
During this week, we are excited to collaborate with student organizations to offer events and workshops to attend and learn more about topics related to cultural resistance and celebrating the importance of cultural tradition and community. At the end of this week, we will conclude with a closing ceremony which will include a panel, folklorico performance, and dinner!

Monday, March 24th
- Community Iftar hosted by Muslim Students in Public Health (MSPH)
Tuesday, March 25th
- Health Policy in the Current Climate hosted by Middle Eastern North African Students in Public Health (MENAPH)
Wednesday, March 26th
- Conchas With a Cause: Concha Fundraiser Supporting Immigrant Communities hosted by La Salud in partnership with Washtenaw Interfaith Coalition for Immigrant Rights
- Immigration Rights and Resources Teach-In Event: Building Community Understand and Resilience hosted by La Salud in partnership with Washtenaw Interfaith Coalition for Immigrant Rights
Thursday, March 27th
- Conchas With a Cause: Concha Fundraiser Supporting Immigrant Communities hosted by La Salud in partnership with Washtenaw Interfaith Coalition for Immigrant Rights
- Week of Cultural Resistance Closing Ceremony hosted by La Salud and Disability Advocacy Coalition of Health Professionals (DACHP)
