The Indonesian Cultural Festival (ICF) 2026 is an annual cultural celebration organized by the Indonesian Student Association at the University of Michigan (ISA-UM). The festival aims to introduce and celebrate the richness of Indonesian culture while fostering cross-cultural exchange within the University of Michigan community.

This year’s theme, “Islands of Rhythm, Oceans of Stories: Experience Indonesia,” highlights the diversity of Indonesia’s cultural heritage, traditions, and artistic expressions. Through a series of engaging programs, ICF invites participants to explore the stories, creativity, and vibrant spirit of Indonesia.

Discover the beauty of Indonesian traditional music.

In this interactive Angklung Workshop, participants will learn to play the angklung, a traditional Indonesian bamboo instrument. This musical workshop offers participants an engaging introduction to Indonesian music, highlighting the rich traditions of angklung and gamelan. Guided by facilitators, attendees will explore each instrument’s cultural significance through interactive history, demonstrations, and hands-on learning. The event fosters community as participants play together, experiment creatively with rhythms, and reflect on their experience—building excitement for the upcoming Indonesian Cultural Festival Night.
