Join TF Usman for a flower arranging workshop led by florist Laura Giles. Laura is the owner of Little Workshop Floral and will be teaching us how to make an arrangement. Flowers and supplies are provided but limited, so please register in advance.

Spots at this event are limited. In order to include more people, we ask that participants bring a graduate student friend to make an arrangement together. While only one person can take the arrangement home, everyone can still learn the techniques!

This event is for graduate students living in Michigan housing. We apologize for not including partners and kids, our funding is restricted. Please contact Laura Herbert (lmhmich@umich.edu) if you need additional accommodations.

This is an informal writing group for anyone writing a dissertation or working on any writing-based project.

What to expect? (1) A Warm Meal to ground your focus; (2) A Comfortable Writing Space with optional music, quiet corners, and community; (3) Occasional Tips from the Sweetland Writing Center

A Proven Formula that works:

• 15 minutes: Hellos & settle in

• 60 minutes: Focused writing (timed!)

• After: Optional social time – connect, chat, or keep writing

Why join? Writing can be lonely. This space offers community, accountability, and momentum. No critiques. No pressure. Just shared silence, support, and food.

What to bring? (1) Laptop or notebook, (2) Headphones/earplugs (optional), (3) Your project—whatever you’re working on

Who can join? Open to writers of all genres, goals, and levels. Come write. Come connect. Come complete.
