The East Quad Staff invites you to attend "EQ Scavenger Hunt" - an opportunity to get acclimated with the hall you live in and to meet fellow EQ residents and the RAs. We hope to see you there!

In collaboration with the Residential College, the East Quad Staff welcomes you to "Karaoke Night" - an opportunity to connect with fellow EQ residents and the EQ RAs during Move-In Week. In addition to hearing some karaoke jams, there will be snacks and raffle prize drawings throughout the event! We hope to see you there!

Join the EQ RAs for information about the myriad of ways to get involved at Michigan. Resident will also have the opportunity to prepare to apply for a closed club - if that is something they are interested in - and learn more about developing recruitment materials.

No football tickets? No problem! Join the EQ RAs to watch Michigan vs. Fresno State and play some board games with fellow residents.

Join the EQ RAs as they attend Taste of Michigan hosted by UM's Fraternity & Sorority Life. We will meet at the Piano Lounge in East Quad at 6:30 PM and then go to Ingalls Mall together. Taste of Michigan is an opportunity to get a taste of the various restaurants and eateries in and around the Ann Arbor area. Residents are welcome to come and go as they please or meet the group at Ingalls Mall during the event.

Join the EQ RAs for a walk to Nichols Arboretum ("The Arb"). Located at 1610 Washington Heights, Ann Arbor, next to Markley Hall, The Arb sits alongside the Huron River and is home to hundreds of species of flora and fauna in a varied, hilly landscape.

Meet in the East Quad Courtyard on the north end of the building at 7:30 PM. We'll stop for boba on the way!

Join the EQ RAs for a walk to the Ann Arbor Farmers Market. Meet at the East Quad Community Center at 10:00 AM and return at 12:00 PM. An opportunity to explore Ann Arbor and the artisans and businesses that participate in the Farmers Market. Plus, meet and socialize with fellow residents on the walk to and from the market.

Located at 315 Detroit St., Ann Arbor, the market proudly brings fresh produce, farm products, prepared food, beverages, and artisan items to the community all year and features 125 vendors from all around Michigan.

Join the EQ RAs as they venture to Kerrytown to explore The Sunday Artisan Market! Meet at NOON in the East Quad Piano Lounge and then head to Kerrytown as a group. We plan to explore the market for about two hours and return to EQ by 3:00 PM.

Located at 315 Detroit St., Ann Arbor, The Sunday Artisan Market offers original, handmade work by dozens of artists and crafters in a wide range of media, from traditional to cutting-edge. All work is made and sold by the artists themselves, giving visitors the opportunity to learn about the creative processes and the materials used. Some artists even work and give demonstrations while at the Market.

The GILE RA and DPE invite residents to gather for a movie night in the Abeng Minority Lounge in East Quad. Movie snacks will be provided and we will be showing the film Freak Show (2018). We hope to see you there!

This event is open to all residents, even if they do not live in the GILE Community.

East Quad residents are invited to show their skills in a Table Tennis Tournament! A prize of $30 in Blue Bucks will be awarded to the tournament champion. Spectators are also welcome!

Join the EQ RAs for a night in to share in the viewing of the film Remember the Titans (2000) an American biographical sports drama film produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and directed by Boaz Yakin.

The Farm Stand is a weekly pop-up market and education project that sells produce grown by students for students. It is held on Thursdays from 12pm-3pm from August 22 through mid-November on South Ingalls Mall. Powered by the U-M Sustainable Food Program (UMSFP) and the Campus Farm at Matthaei Botanical Gardens (CF), this project seeks to increase access to local food for students and engage the wider U-M community in food systems learning and engagement opportunities. Students receive a 30% discount and the proceeds from the Farm Stand go towards funding student-led sustainable food initiatives here at the U-M through UMSFP’s mini-grants for food justice program.

The State Theater is sponsoring a FREE showing of Exhuma (2024).

Exhuma is a 2024 South Korean horror film written and directed by Jang Jae-hyun, and starring Choi Min-sik, Kim Go-eun, Yoo Hae-jin and Lee Do-hyun. The film includes mystery and occult elements, and follows the process of excavating an ominous grave, which unleashes dreadful consequences buried underneath.

Exhuma premiered in the Forum section at the 74th Berlin International Film Festival on February 16, 2024. It was released theatrically on February 22 and received positive reviews from critics. The film has earned a worldwide gross of US$97 million, making it the highest-grossing South Korean film of 2024 and the sixth highest-grossing South Korean film of all time.

Join EQ ResStaff for a showing of the film Perfect Days (2023).

Perfect Days is a 2023 drama film directed by Wim Wenders, written by Wenders and Takuma Takasaki. A co-production between Japan and Germany, the film follows the routine life of Hirayama (Kōji Yakusho), a public toilet cleaner in Tokyo.

Perfect Days premiered on May 23, 2023 at the 76th Cannes Film Festival, where it competed for the Palme d'Or and won the Prize of the Ecumenical Jury and the Best Actor Award for Kōji Yakusho. It was nominated for the Best International Feature Film at the 96th Academy Awards, becoming the first film directed by a non-Japanese filmmaker to be nominated as the Japanese entry.
