The Anti-Racism Collaborative at the National Center for Institutional Diversity (NCID) is thrilled to introduce the second installment of our UM Scholar Lunch and Q&A series! This session will feature Dr. Vanessa Louis, Clinical Assistant Professor, Educational Studies, Marsal Family School of Education, Dr. David Porter, Professor of English and Director of the Detroit River Story Lab, College of Literature Science And the Arts, and Bruce J. Ross, President of Ross & Contemporaries, LLC. Dr. Alford Young, Jr, will moderate the Q&A portion of the event.
This event offers a unique opportunity for the Anti-Racism Collaborative community and those dedicated to anti-racism scholarship to hear about
The Detroit River Story Lab, an interdisciplinary, grant-funded initiative that partners with regional organizations to reconnect communities with the river and its stories. Through collaborative research, educational programs, and engagement projects, the Story Lab’s partnerships amplify marginalized voices and foreground the role of the river and its shores as sites of connection, stewardship, and healing.
