Join us for a casual meet and greet with University of Michigan alum and currently serving Peace Corps Volunteer, Lauren Benitez! Lauren is currently back in the U.S. visiting family and will join us in Ann Arbor for the afternoon!
Lauren Benitez ('23) is currently working in the Economic Development sector in Fiji with the Peace Corps. She has just reached the 1-year mark of her 2-year service in the 400-person village of Vanuakula on the island of Viti Levu, Fiji. Over the past year, she has worked alongside community members to identify locally prioritized projects; such as waste management, financial literacy training, protection of natural resources through mangrove rehabilitation, and a solar lighting installation. She is excited to return to campus to share her experience with the Peace Corps Prep Program and answer any questions about service and Fiji!
