Holding a position in middle management can provide a variety of challenges, especially to those who are effective in the role. Middle managers are required to transition their thinking, their communication, and their work style—often on a daily basis. The purpose of the position can sometimes feel convoluted. This two-part series is primarily relevant for those who are in middle management and who oversee middle managers, but even those who aspire to move into a middle management role will find value in its content. It will provide strategies for intentional personal assessment and development as well as ways that middle managers must work with external colleagues and groups.
