Erin Rivard is a manager in Corporate Strategy for CMS Energy. She recently pivoted to the energy industry due to her passion for the clean energy transition. Her role allows her to push the company to consider new technologies to reduce the cost of the energy transition, while also improving reliability. Prior to pivoting, she worked for 13 years in research and development in the areas of radar, communication, and sensors at SRI International. Her accomplishments from SRI include leading projects that make the world safer, mentorship of successful engineers, and winning an award for her participation in an employee resource group steering committee. She holds a BSE (2008) and MSE (2010) from the University of Michigan, both in Electrical Engineering. She lives in Chelsea, MI with her husband and two daughters (ages 7 and 5) and enjoys spending time outdoors in her free time.
