2024 First-Generation College Student Celebration Week

The University of Michigan and the First-Gen Gateway celebrate first-generation college students November 4th - November 8th in honor of National First-Generation College Student Day! All week long, we will be putting on events to support and bring visibility to the nearly 4,000 first-generation college students on our campus.

This workshop will share data about first-generation college students at UM and illuminate best practices to use for best serving first-generation college students on campus. It will have an interactive element to provide insights about how we think about first-generation college students and invites participants to share their experiences as first-generation college students or as faculty and staff who work with first-generation college students.


This session will be tailored to faculty, staff, and the broader campus community, but everyone is welcome!
