First-Year Fridays with Adventure Leadership

First-Year Fridays are afternoon adventures designed for incoming students who are looking to develop relationships, increase their knowledge and awareness of local green spaces in the Ann Arbor area, and grow a connection with nature while recreating outdoors.

Participants will have the opportunity to engage in one of three types of outdoor recreation activities, depending on the theme of the week – either biking, paddling, climbing, or some combination of the three!

It’s just ten dollars per day trip. No experience is necessary - beginners are encouraged! All food, gear, and transportation is provided. All you need to do is register for your desired session, then follow this link to submit payment. One of our awesome student trip leaders will contact you once your registration is complete, and then you are ready to kick off your college experience with thrills and outdoor fun!

Join Adventure Leadership for a day of biking and botanical gardens! Our vans will pick you up from central campus and head to our Adventure Education Center. From there we will ride (bikes are provided!) on a beautiful bike path to Matthaei Botanical Gardens and explore their green houses and trails. After our adventure, we will cook a camp meal together, have a bonfire, and eat s’mores! Our vans will return you to central campus at the end of the event.
