This series of workshops aims to equip you with practical skills and knowledge for the job search process. You will have a chance to learn best practices and strategies necessary to best prepare for your career and job search. Each workshop will provide opportunities to engage and learn how to develop professional skills (assessment, communication, networking). 

Aims and Objectives:

  1. To provide trainees with the tools and knowledge necessary for successful job hunting in the biomedical/medical field and life sciences.
  2. To help trainees present their skills and experiences effectively to potential employers.
  3. To boost trainees' confidence in the job search process.

Today we will learn how to create impactful professional documents that showcase your skills and qualifications. Crafting an effective professional document, be it a CV, resume, or cover letter, is crucial to making a strong impression in your job search. In this workshop, we will dive into the specifics of how to write a cover letter that will capture employers' attention and distinguish you from other candidates.


Workshop  Goals:

  • Understand the purpose and essence of a cover letter, distinguishing what it is and what it isn’t, to assist in crafting impactful applications.
  • Familiarize yourself with the overall structure and key contents of a well-crafted cover letter.
  • Develop the skills to describe your experiences and accomplishments in your cover letter, balancing confidence with humility.
  • Learn how to customize your cover letter to suit specific job positions, enhancing relevance and effectiveness.
