Student Life New Staff Orientation Winter 2023

All newly hired Student Life staff are expected to attend New Staff Orientation. Prior registration is strongly encouraged: please register by Monday, September 12.

This Orientation, designed for all newly hired Student Life staff, will provide both a context and helpful trainings for the work we do. The day will also include opportunities to interact with new and returning Student Life staff and explore how, together, we can contribute to an inclusive, respectful campus. Your Orientation will include the mandatory Responsible Employee Training, which is required for all Student Life staff members. All staff should register for both the Orientation and the Responsible Employee Training.

For those who supervise Full Time Staff, please also register for the Coaching, Feedback, & Trust: Supervision in Student Life session.

January 25, 2023: Orientation - 9am-1pm (New Staff, Lunch Provided, REQUIRED)

January 25, 2023: Coaching, Feedback, & Trust: Supervision in Student Life - 1pm-4pm (New Student Life Supervisors)

January 31, 2023: Individual With Reporting Obligations Training - 10am-12pm (New Staff, REQUIRED)

As a staff member in Student Life, you may have reporting responsibilities as it relates to this policy and Title IX. In addition, you have responsibilities to report crimes to the University as required by the Clery Act. This training is required for the majority of staff, and will help you understand the rights and responsibilities belonging to each of us as we work collectively to end sexual assault, intimate partner violence, stalking, and sexual and gender-based discrimination and harassment in our University community.

If you are unsure of your status as an Individual with Reporting Obligations, check with your supervisor.

Check In begins at 9:30am, program begins at 10am.
