Thesis Writing Groups

Thesis writers are encouraged to join a thesis writing group for winter 2022. 

Thesis writing groups will meet weekly with a peer mentor. Meetings are in place to provide peer support and resources to any interested Honors students. 

Interested in earning 1 graded credit for joining a thesis group? 

When you attend your first meeting, your group leader will review this option with everyone.

To earn one graded credit for Hon 490, you must:

• Attend consistently
• Productively participate in group meetings

One absence is allowed before the grade will be affected.

Your group coordinator will monitor attendance and correspond with Honors Program Associate Director Dr. Lisa Broome and Director Dr. Mika LaVaque-Manty, who will be the faculty grader for Honors 490.

If you are already taking 18 credits but still want one credit for Hon 490, you will need to pay extra tuition for the credit and get permission to take a credit overload. If you're in this situation, please contact Lisa Broome (lbroome) directly to discuss this carefully.
