Psychology Presents: Careers A to Z View Other Sessions
Join us for an interactive panel discussion of Psychology Dept Alumni as they present their career path and discuss how they've used their degree since graduating. Students will then be able to sign up for 15 minutes one-on-ones with individual alumni in Zoom breakout rooms after the panel. During the 1:1, you can ask more questions about their career path, tips and advice, and even feedback on your resume.
- Sneha Edupuganti, Strategist at Google
After graduating from UM in 2017 as a Psych major, Sneha joined Meijer HQ in Grand Rapids, Michigan as a Business Analyst. She learned about a variety of sub-fields from product flow to logistics to brand management in retail. In 2019, she moved back to Southeast Michigan to begin working at Google as a Strategist. Her current role is helping small and growing businesses with their advertising strategies.
Her time at both these companies solidified her interest in pursuing an MBA. Coming from a social science background, she wanted to have a foundation of business knowledge that could complement the skills she is already developing at work. She joined the Weekend MBA program at the Ross School of Business and is planning to graduate in 2022.
Outside of this, she enjoys spending time with her adorable dog, practicing yoga, and serving as a podcast host for the PTMBA program!
- Melissa Iftimie, Behavioral Specialist and Public Health Nutritionist
Melissa Iftimie is a behavioral specialist and public health nutritionist, who one crazy day decided to go to business school. She has worked with moms from Michigan to Zimbabwe for over a decade representing NGOs, the United Nations and international development organizations. Two years ago Melissa started her own company, Fooblie, a nutrition-tech company that supports US parents with healthy and fun family eating. Melissa is on a mission to change our relationship with food, starting with pregnancy and baby’s first bites.
Melissa holds an BA from University of Michigan where she majored in Psychology, an MPH from the Milken School of Public Health at George Washington University and an MBA from the McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University. She lives in San Francisco with her family.
- Ani Grigorian, Owner at Ani G LLC, Accessibility Consultant
Ani G is a geriatric social worker turned accessibility consultant improving how we move throughout and interact with our built environments. Ani believes that the key to life is being able to do what we have always been doing, no matter how our ability changes as we grow older. With her consulting firm, Ani gets to work with people across industries and sectors impacting how we think and design with accessibility, age, and disability at the core of initiatives. She also supports Detroit Disability Power as their Disability Access Consulting Manager.
- Jackie Long, TV Host & Actor
Jackie is the former host and star of Jack of All Tastes, a program in which she traveled across the country sampling culinary delights from various eateries with NFL athletes. During her time at UM, Jackie was a dual degree student receiving her BA in Psychology as well as her BTA in Performance. Long currently stars in Airport Insider where she gives tips and tricks for efficiently navigating the world’s airports making what some would consider the hardest part of traveling fun. With her start in television as a food reporter for a Miami news outlet and all of her exciting travels, Jackie also brought a well rounded perspective to her hunger for knowledge and innovation starring on Discovery’s Tomorrow’s World Today. When she’s not filming, Jackie resides in Nashville, TN with her husband, retired NFL All-Pro Jake Long, and their two daughters, renovating historic homes.
- Peyton Weiss, Social Media Manager, Bravo and E!
Peyton graduated from the University of Michigan in 2013 with a B.A. in Communication Studies & Psychology. Upon graduation, she moved to New York City and has worked in the entertainment industry for the past 6+ years with a focus in data analytics and social media marketing. She currently is the Social Media Manager at Bravo and E! and works out of 30 Rockefeller Center.
