Overview: Volunteers will be assisting the Forgotten Harvest staff with repacking a variety of fresh, frozen, or dry foods to donate to local families in need to help fight hunger and food insecurity.
Timing: The day will begin with lunch at the Forgotten Harvest Warehouse at 12:30 pm, followed by a brief volunteer training and the volunteer activity from 1:00 - 3:30 pm. Lunch is provided by the School of Public Health. (Please note: 11:30 am - 4:30 pm time listed above allows for travel time to and from the site.)
Dress code: Volunteers should wear comfortable, casual attire, including long pants and closed toe shoes.
All jewelry should be removed (wedding rings are fine). It is recommended that volunteers bring dress in layers because the kitchen/warehouse can be chilly. Hair nets, rubber gloves, and aprons will be provided and are required to be worn in the warehouse and kitchen area at all times.
