Munger Fellows Events 2019-2020 View Other Sessions

Here at Munger Graduate Residences, we recognize it is important for graduate and professional students to learn and grow outside of their academic disciplines.  This is why we developed the Munger Graduate Program.  Throughout the year, graduate and professional students living both in Munger and outside of Munger have the opportunity to take part in events focused on building community and developing transdisciplinary skills essential for success in 21st-century careers.

Join us for a discussion of Educated - Born to survivalists in the mountains of Idaho, Tara Westover was seventeen the first time she set foot in a classroom. Her family was so isolated from mainstream society that there was no one to ensure the children received an education, and no one to intervene when one of Tara’s older brothers became violent. When another brother got himself into college, Tara decided to try a new kind of life. Her quest for knowledge transformed her, taking her over oceans and across continents, to Harvard and to Cambridge University. Only then would she wonder if she’d traveled too far, if there was still a way home.

Anyone who has read the book is welcome to join our discussion! Snacks will be provided.
