A growing body of scholarship on appreciative education points to the importance of attending to the well-being of educators, not only for the educators themselves but for the benefit of students. Drawing from his own professional experience, the presenter will focus on how we can apply the powerful findings from the fields of positive psychology and appreciative inquiry into student affairs practice. The presentation will address both organizational practices and individual behaviors that have proven, positive results. Attention will also be given to implications of positive psychology for social equality and justice.
