James T. Neubacher Award Ceremony - 2026

Join us for the award presentation for the 2026 James T. Neubacher Award. This event will be both in person and over zoom, feel free to register for both events so that you can receive the zoom information.

The award is presented to a faculty member, staff member, student, or alum of the University for significant achievements in:

• Empowering people with disabilities.

• Advocating for or advancing disability rights or disability justice

• Increasing the accessibility of programs and services to promote disability inclusion.

The award is sponsored by the U-M Council for Disability Concerns, Equity, Civil Rights, and Title IX Office, University Human Resources, Michigan Medicine, and the Office of the President.

Student Accessibility and Accommodation Services will recognize U-M Adaptive Sports & Fitness (ASF) for its accomplishments over the past year, including winning the ITA National Championship, two ASF coaches receiving national Coach of the Year honors, and ASF’s work with Ann Arbor Public Schools through the Adaptive Sports & Inclusive Recreation Initiative (ASIRI), sponsored by the Michigan Health Endowment Fund.

SAAS will also recognize the 2025 recipient of the Adam S. Miller Staff and Faculty Award.
