At the start of the paint night, residents can grab refreshments to start the night of relaxation. They will then take a seat by their easels that are set up with their canvases, paints, and paintbrushes. After the beach is complete, I will encourage residents to paint a scene on the beach that has representations of their identities. Residents will then share their paintings with the people around them and as a group as a whole, explaining what each part of the scene represents of their identity if they are comfortable. This will lead into discussions of identity that will hopefully allow residents to think more on what represents them and what parts of their identity are most important.
