Doctoral Student Success Series 2026-2027

The UMSI Doctoral Student Success Series (DSSS) is a monthly series of workshops, panels, lectures, and discussions on a variety of professional development and mentorship topics of interest to UMSI PhD students. The series is open to all UMSI doctoral students, though it is focused on students from year 2 and beyond, following the First Semester Experience course (SI 705). Each month during the academic year, we will host an in-person, hybrid, or virtual based on a topic that UMSI graduate students have identified as being of particular interest in terms of their professional development. In the past, we have held events about the academic job market, the non-academic job market, and writing job application materials for academic jobs.
