Global Wolverines: Preparing You to Have a Successful International Experience

Applying for funding at U-M to help cover the cost of your international internship? Join us for an optional funding statement peer review session in which you'll have an opportunity to get feedback on your statement of purpose from Global Wolverines staff and fellow students. 

We'll provide food! 

Come to this session to hear tips about booking international flights on a budget. We will include a live demo on how to book a flight and there will also be time for Q&A after the presentation. If you're new to booking international flights, this workshop is for you!

Be prepared! Come to this workshop to learn about U-M health and safety resources and how they apply to you during your summer travels -- even if you're participating in an independent program!

This event will be presented by the Global Engagement Team in the Office of the Provost and is part of the Global Wolverines: Preparing You to Have a Successful International Experience event series.

Traveling as a student can be an amazing experience, but it can also be challenging if you're not well-prepared. This presentation will provide a general guide to help you prepare for smart and safe travel. Key points will include what to pack, transportation options, finding accommodation, budgeting, and more.

Traveling abroad this summer? Come to "Survival Language and Culture" to find out about resources, tips, and tricks for navigating an unfamiliar language and culture! This workshop will be presented by the International Center and the Language Resource Center.

During your international experience this summer, you will likely be exploring a new culture and engaging with a new community. This workshop will cover a range of topics, including:

• Understanding and dealing with culture shock in your host country and reverse culture shock after returning back home.
• Navigating your social identities abroad.
• Entering and exiting your community respectfully.
• Ethical photography and social media considerations.
