Meet at the South Quad Community Centre at 2:50. We will be walking to Angel Hall together.
Michelle Xiao

We will be meeting at the South Quad Community Centre on Sept 28th, at 2:50 PM. After taking attendance, we will then walk to Angel Hall together for the event. During this walk, I will check in with residents and ask some ice breaker questions to break any tension. After we arrive, I will let residents roam, or if any resident wants to explore or read together,  I will also be available for that. It is my hope that this program will help students become more aware and open-minded about the avenues to help them find their community on campus. After the event, residents will have the choice of leaving independently, with new friends, or walking back to South Quad together.

Charlie Zhang & Jordyn Riley

Students will be able to try their hand at “threading the needle” in this crafting event. There will be two crafts for students to choose from: an embroidery kit with instructions and pre-determined designs and a free hand option where students can choose to embroider whatever they want on a tote bag (using the trendy technique of hot gluing a design and stitching over the design to create a cool 3d effect). This event will be a fun opportunity for students to learn a new craft and bring a decorative trinket home. Students will meet the HRAs(Charlie Zhang & Jordyn Riley) at 6 PM in the Perlman Honors Commons for this event. It will last from 6 PM to approximately 8 PM.

Jeremiah Harmon

RA Jeremiah and the other RAs will gather near the community center around 11:20 to allow for early residents to have someone to chat with. We will likely leaver around 11:35 to make sure no student is left behind at South Quad. We will head out on foot, allowing for engagement and discussion with our residents and amongst themselves. Our group will arrive to the Bowling location around 12-12:15 PM and break up into smaller groups. This will reinforce bonds and allow for a fun way to relax for students finishing their first exams. Around 2 PM, we will head back to South Quad and arrive at 2:30.

South Quad Game Room
Michelle Xiao

We will start in the South Quad Game Room. After taking attendance, I will set some community guidelines to ensure that everyone feels welcome and boundaries are respected. If allowed, I hope to have students sort of lead the way for this event, depending on what they are interested in. Students will then have the opportunity to perform, present, or just listen (whatever they are comfortable with). This event will also hopefully give them an opportunity to discover some new ways to guide the different types of wellness into their lives. Coming from a very diverse community, students share various experiences and identities. Music is a form of expression that can allow students to both share their identities and be open-minded to what others come into this community with. After the event ends, I will ensure that everything is cleaned up and returned.

South Quad Dining Hall
Lauren Billman & Tiffany Zheng

Residents will have the opportunity to have brunch with their RAs( Lauren Billman & Tiffany Zheng). This will happen from 8am-9am, right before the start of gameday festivities. This event will be casual and inviting, and allowing residents to have an alternate space to socialize, instead of going to the game. The hope is for residents to feel supported and to have a community that is not partaking in football game activities

Correct

Through a brunch, RAs Jeremiah Harmon & Praneet Voleti, hope that students can talk with one another and learn about each other's interests and habits. In the process, we aim that students will participate in healthy habits. We also aim to meet with some of our residents and understand them on a deeper level so that we can connect with them.

Nichols Arboretum (we're meeting in the Front Lobby of SQ)
Ricardo Aquino-Gonzalez & Samantha Williams

Ideally, we want this event to be a nice and relaxed way to connect with our residents. With two of our BSP RA's living on the sixth floor, they sometimes don't get as much time to interact with BSP residents. This is a tremendous way for everyone to get to know each other, continue building community and exploring campus together. For residents, BSP RAs Ricardo Aquino-Gonzalez & Samantha Williams, want this to be a time to come to us with questions, concerns or hopefully just general comments about the start of the semester.
