The Division of Student Life has invested heavily in bringing adaptive leadership training to our staff via the Michigan Model of Leadership. Many staff were exposed to this model over the years. We will continue to ground our collective work in this model. If you have not yet attended a session, or are a new staff member to Student Life, we invite you to join us and learn about the model and your leadership style.

This training aims to educate participants on how to provide support and assistance to students who are in recovery from substance addiction, the challenges that individuals in recovery may face on a college campus, and some practices for offering support. This training will include discussions and activities that help participants build their skills and knowledge in this area. Ultimately, the goal of a Recovery Ally training is to help participants become more effective allies and advocates for those in recovery, and to help create a more supportive and inclusive campus community.
