We're excited to have you attend our February session for ILI! In this session, you'll learn more about cultural competencies and practice some activities to learn how to best engage your diverse teams.

The session will occur on Tuesday, February 24th from 11:30am-1:00pm in the Leinweber room 2280.

MADS Admissions & Recruitment coordinator Meryl Baker leads an application tips webinar with a live Q&A. Attendees will hear about the MADS program, the skills-based admission process, what's required as part of the application, and how the assessment process works. Please join us to get your questions answered, and benefit from the curiosity of like-minded peers!

Are you a current UMSI BSI student interested in earning your master’s degree faster?
The Accelerated Master’s Degree Program (AMDP) allows eligible BSI students to earn a UMSI master’s degree in just one additional year after completing their bachelor's degree.

Join one of our virtual AMDP Information Sessions to learn how you can continue your education at UMSI and deepen your expertise in the information field—quickly and efficiently.

Each session includes:



An introduction to the AMDP and an overview of the curriculum


Information about the application process, deadlines, and requirements


Live Q&A with a member of the UMSI admissions team



Whether you’re starting to explore your options or preparing to apply this year, these sessions are designed to help you determine if AMDP is the right next step for you.

We encourage every student interested in or contemplating an undergraduate degree at the School of Information to attend an information session. You will receive an engaging and comprehensive overview of the program, as well as guidance for the application process. Sessions are hosted on different days to accommodate as many students as possible, and you only need to attend one session before you apply. If you are unable to attend an information session, we highly recommend emailing our team (umsi,.undergrad@umich.edu) to make sure you have all of the necessary details or scheduling a 1:1 appointment with a student ambassador or admissions advisor.
These information sessions are for students interested in transferring to UMSI from outside of the University of Michigan- Ann Arbor campus.

Join UMSI Student Life for a relaxing evening of painting on Tuesday, March 10 from 6:00-7:30 PM at UMSI Central! Unleash your creativity on tote bags and small canvases as you showcase your artistic talents.

Connect with the MSI Academic Advising team for an interactive session designed to set you up for success in the AMDP. You’ll meet your advisors, learn what to expect from graduate-level coursework, review degree requirements, and walk through key registration and internship procedures. You’ll also work directly with advisors to begin building a personalized academic plan for timely and confident completion of the program. Dinner will be provided!

You’ll meet your advisors, learn what to expect from graduate-level coursework, review degree requirements, and walk through key registration and internship procedures. We're excited to have you attend our March session for ILI! In this session, you'll work with your team to develop your ILI final deliverable.

The session will occur on Monday, March 23rd from 12:00-1:30pm in the UMSI Central Great Room.

The 2026 Student Leadership Showcase will celebrate student leaders from UMSI for a variety of accomplishments.

At the ceremony, enjoy dinner while connecting with others, watch student organizations receive awards and listen to student leaders give lightning talks on challenges and successes they encountered this year. We will also have time to recognize students who completed the Inclusive Leaders in Information (ILI) and Leading Innovative Forward-thinking Teams (LIFT) programs.

Student Organization Award nominations will be open from March 9th through April 5th.

Join the MHI Academic Advising team for a virtual academic onboarding designed to set you up for success from day one. Before the live session, you’ll complete the required asynchronous pre-learning to ensure you’re prepared to engage fully. During the session, you’ll meet your advisors, learn what to expect from graduate-level coursework, review degree requirements, and walk through key registration procedures. You’ll also begin building a personalized academic plan to support your timely and confident completion of the MSI program.
