Issues in STEM Discussion Group

WISE is hosting monthly conversations about how science and engineering work gets done.

Session Is Over
Undergraduate Science Building - 3236 (WISE Office)

This month, we will be discussing how the values and identities of a STEM professional influence the work that individual does. Science Friday recently had a story, "Meet Two Autistic Researchers Changing How Autism Research Is Done," that we will discuss.

Anyone is welcome to participate, whether you've listened to/watched/read this month's piece(s) or not. Feel free to bring your lunch.

For additional background on the (lack of) objectivity of science, check out this piece by Stephen John, a scholar of the philosophy of public health, or this piece by Naomi Oreskes, a professor of the history of science. Both of these are written for general audiences.
