Join RA Lynn for a casual get together where students can freely mingle and introduce themselves to the other residents. There will be food and music to create an inviting atmosphere for relationship building and learning.

This event will be a presentation of resources for students coming into college. The presentation will first touch on use of google calendar, use of gmail, google chat and other google spaces, tips and tricks on how to communicate (emails vs. texts etc), other spaces such as notion and other note-taking things, important michigan apps to have (UMichigan app, bus app, etc). There will also be a Q&A at the end for students to chat about anything they need with classes, college, etc. 

Join RA David at the CLC at around 2:00 p.m., and then take a short 2-minute walk to the natural history museum. At the Museum, join RA David on an hour long tour of the building!

Join RA Aliyah to meet new friends and eat dinner at MoJo dining!

Come join RAs Roman and Sivani for a pizza and painting party! Residents will be encouraged to drop in and out as they please to paint, eat, and chat!

Come join RA Emma on a walk around the arboretum! Touch grass and de-stress from a week of classes with a walk in Nichols Arboretum. This is a great way to talk with friends, practice wellness, and see more of what Michigan has to offer!

RAs Sivani and Roman will be hosting a watch party for La La Land. The movie will begin playing at 8 pm. A note about the event will be posted on the door of the Jo Living Room. Residents will be able to watch with friends in a relaxing environment

Join RA Gabe for a single elimination style Mosher Jordan ping pong tournament using the ping pong equipment in the Mo Living Room. 

Join RA Aliyah for a movie night with a hands-on activity and goal-setting component. This event will help build community and provide a growth opportunity in thinking about one's dreams and goals. The movie Tangled will be shown and residents will have supplies to create lanterns and write their dreams/goals inside the lantern. 

Join RA Maxx for a storyboarding event. RA Maxx will put out several pieces of paper that encourage residents to create a story as they pass by. RA Maxx will start with a sentence or two and leave the rest blank for anyone passing by to add to it. Rules will be at the top of the board. Candy will be available for residents as they engage with the storyboard.

Join RA Emma for a identity focused bracelet making event! The event will start with a presentation on identity that includes an interactive handout for residents to brainstorm different aspects of their identities, followed by a short presentation on intersectionality and a tutorial on how to make friendship bracelets.

Come join RAs David and Lynn for a picnic in the Arboretum. Meet at the Jo Lounge at 3:30 PM, then walk together to the Arb, where we'll set up picnic blankets and painting supplies by Hawthorn Valley, just a short 5-minute walk away.. The event will begin at 3:30 PM, and cleanup will start around 5:00 PM. The goal is to relax and be creative while enjoying the natural surroundings!

Join RA Aspen for a month long scavenger hunt! RA Aspen will hide mini ducks around Mosher Jordan Hall. Residents will be encouraged to search for the ducks and once they find them, place them on their own door frame. At the end of the month, the person with the most ducks will win a prize!

This event will start out with talking about building a "brand" for yourself or how you want people's first impression to be of you as linkedin/your resume is usually their first impression. Then, we will work through resumes and linkedins so you can all set yourselves up for success in the coming years. We will also take some time at the end for individual help on linkedins/resumes with RA Emma Gorbe!

Join RA David for vision boarding! RA David will provide a set of open-ended creative prompts related to the college experience, acclimation, adjustment, and academic goals. Students will then collage their vision boards. Students will also have the choice to do the vision board digitally.

Join RA Maxx as they set up an arts and crafts station with ghosts to decorate. Get into the mindset of fall and the spooky season with your fellow residents!

Join RA Aliyah for a MoJo just dance event with a custom cake and lemonade. Take turns picking your just dance songs from Youtube and have fun with a nostaglic game!

This event will start with an overview on the LSA course guide, atlas, and other classes. We will then look at major requirements and college requirements and then finally show how to start a 4 year plan and then go into resources for students who may need some more help walking through these steps. 

RA Roman will take resident's to the Arb and guide residents through a simple trail walk in the arb. We can stop by the river and hangout out, and just take some time to decompress in nature. 

Join RA Roman as they take residents to a movie night in Mosher Jordan hall hosted by the MoJo DPE! The movie will be "The incredibly Awesome Adventure of 2 Girls in Love"

Join RAs Marie and Lynn for a spooky scary stories night. Sit around the campfire (a campfire on the tv). while people take turns telling their stories. 

Join RA Emma for sweets and experiments! RA Emma will provide science kits for the experiment and will provide instructions on what the experiment is. Music and good vibes will be provided as we explore WISE's mission of leadership and representation in science!

Get creative and show your support at our upcoming bracelet-making event! Connect with friends and fellow students while crafting colorful bracelets that celebrate diversity and inclusivity. All materials will be provided—just bring your creativity and a positive spirit!

Whether you’re a seasoned crafter or trying something new, this is a great opportunity to express yourself and make new friends. Plus, take home a unique piece of jewelry!

Holiday Trivia Night - A short presentation about holidays during the end of October and beginning of November (Halloween, Dia de los Muertos, Diwali) followed by trivia. This will either take the form of Jeopardy or a Kahoot. 

We will have artwork prompts that promotes destressing techniques such as engaging in doing art. It will also allow people to destress after midterms and express themselves uniquely through art!

Whodunit is a murder mystery with no murder :) The event will begin at 5 pm with food and board games and residents will collect a character to play for the event when they arrive. After about an hour, a character will "go missing" and everyone will participate in a scavenger hunt for clues within their characters as well as around the room to find out who took the missing character. The resident playing the character will be pulled aside and given the option to play a detective to help find themselves. 

Join RSC Maya for a wellness walk and chat through the Arboretum. Plan to meet by the front door near the CC and then head over to the arb. Residents can also meet RSC Maya at the first bench when you enter the arb. The walk will focus on destressing, relaxing, and setting healthy goals/habits.

MRADS residents will receive a BINGO card with different activities that fall under research (thematic coding, interviewing, taking notes, etc.). Residents will then mark off that bingo square once they have done it and every bingo will get a prize.

"Dia de los Muertos: Remembrance Mural" is a DEI event designed to honor and celebrate Dia de los Muertos. Participants will create a communal mural on a large roll of paper, using art supplies and inspiration prompts to reflect on and commemorate their loved ones. Throughout the event, the animated film "Coco" will play in the background, enriching the cultural atmosphere and providing inspiration for the artwork. This gathering aims to blend creative expression with cultural appreciation in a community-focused setting.

RAs Aliyah and Lola are hosting an informative event, talking about the different ways burnout may show up in our lives, and what is in our power to control. With an emphasis on self-care and destressing. We plan to make wellness goodie bags with affirmations and other small items, and provide coloring supplies to allow residents to distress and reconnect with their community.

Residents will do a basket weaving (or similar) activity while learning about the tribal history of the Ann Arbor area. This is both an educational event hosted by the multicultural council and an opportunity to do a hands-on activity. Residents can come and go as they please.

Join RA Gabe and the Michigan Speech Neurophysiology lab for a film screening (of the King's Speech) and panel discussion that pushes back against negative stuttering stereotypes.

Join RAs David and Lynn in collaboration with the Office of Student Conflict Resolution (OSCR), for an event focused on enhancing communication skills and introducing conflict resolution techniques. The "CLAM, Cookies, and Communication" event will feature interactive workshops (with the campus partner) designed to equip students with practical skills for managing everyday interactions and conflicts. We'll offer cookies and refreshments to encourage networking and casual discussions among participants. The event will conclude with a reflective group discussion to reinforce the application of these skills. Post-event, we will provide ongoing CLAM resources and gather feedback to ensure continued support and development for the students at Mosher-Jordan Hall.

Join RAs Marie and Lynn for a Mario Kart Tournmanet! We’ll have an open registration so start placing people into the tournament schedule. We’ll start with a warm-up round to make sure everyone, regardless of skill level, feels comfortable and readjusted to playing if it has been a while. The tournament will follow a bracket system, and participants can enjoy snacks and socialize between rounds. The event will wrap up once a winner has been decided and a small prize will be awarded to the winner.

Waiting for gradeThis event will serve to welcome back residents to the dorm and the new semester as well as resolidify bonds and connections that were made last semester. Additionally, this floor dinner provides an opportunity for residents to meet others and make new friends. 

Students will reflect on their past semester’s achievements, challenges, and growth, particularly in relation to their academic journey. Participants will engage in guided self-reflection exercises, set SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound) goals for the upcoming year, and create personalized action plans to boost their self-efficacy. Students will also be encouraged to make a digital wallpaper for their computers on canva, to remind them of their goals every day!

Join RA Aliyah as they host an event where they will be talking about a fixed mindset vs. growth mindset and how to use your thinking, self-affirmations, and resilience to unlock your full potential and never give up.

The PowerPoint Night is planned to be a fun event where residents can create and share short presentations on any topic they like. Whether it be educational or a rant on a topic they wish to get off their chest. Each person will have 5-7 minutes (dependent on the number of residents present), to present in a casual and supportive setting. Snacks will be provided to make it a fun and relaxing atmosphere for everyone.

The community cookbook will be a collaborative initiative where residents will create a digital cookbook featuring recipes that reflect their diverse cultural backgrounds, personal experiences, and STEM interests. Participants will contribute recipes, share the stories behind them, and explore how their identities intersect with their academic and professional pursuits in STEM fields.

The "Building the Future, Brick by Brick" event is designed to foster creativity, teamwork, and confidence in STEM skills through a fun and engaging Lego-based activity. Residents will enter a lively, colorful space and begin building structures inspired by STEM challenges (e.g., bridges, towers, or vehicles) using a “build-and-pass” format, where each creation is passed along to another participant to expand upon. This process emphasizes collaboration, creativity, and problem-solving, mirroring real-world STEM environments. Once the builds are complete, residents will test their creations, present their designs, and reflect on the experience, discussing how diverse perspectives and teamwork contributed to innovative solutions.

Residents will be given a scavenger hunt sheet with clues. All clues will relate to a black historical figure (inventor, activist, etc) and be things inside the building. Residents will be allowed to team up (4 people max) and winning team will get a prize

Meet RA Maxx at the community center at 4:30pm and then walk with them to the Hatcher Graduate Library to explore exhibition. The description of the exhibition is as follows: "Through research, narratives, demographic data, and a variety of visual and published materials, explore multifaceted aspects of mixed race heritage with insights from many perspectives."

Join RA Aliyah for a Moana watch party, a story about a girl who follows her dreams with immense courage despite many things/people who may have been holding her back. This experience is similar to one that many gender-minoritized students also face in STEM. While residents are watching the movie, they will complete a letter to themselves that encourages them to follow their dreams and tells their future self that they know they could do it. The purpose of this activity is to inspire residents to believe in themselves, and manifest bravery for their future self to read about when they are feeling down at any time during the semester.

Join RA Gabe as they host an event that will provide resources to make cards for valentines! Come build community by doing crafts together, and enjoy a space to decompress while eating snacks from dining. 

Residents will be able to drop in and make valentines day cards for their friends or partners while enjoying the movie "How to Lose a Guy in Ten Days". This will be a low stress environment for residents to relax after a long day of classes.

Join RA Lynn in the Jordan Lounge at 7:30 PM and then head over as a group to the University Philharmonic Orchestra concert. Since it’s free and there’s no assigned seating, we’ll want to leave and arrive with enough time to get good seating.  

The "Science Communication" seminar is designed to empower MoJo residents with the skills to effectively communicate scientific concepts to a diverse audience. The event is structured to be interactive, educational, and engaging, providing both foundational knowledge and practical experience in science communication. While this event is hosted by MRADS RA David, it is open to all residents interested in research.

This event will be facilitated by Sivani and features Lola, Roman, and I. We will have a panel where we will each share our experience in our own pre-health tracks, any advice, and answer any questions throughout the event.

This event is designed to help residents reflect on their personal identities and values in a STEM context, foster a sense of community, and engage in a creative, hands-on activity. The event will begin with an introduction to the goals and activity, followed by a reflection period where participants fill out a periodic table template with words or symbols representing their identities and values. They will then create larger "element tiles" summarizing their STEM identity in the style of periodic table elements, using creative materials like markers and stickers. These tiles will be assembled into a collective "Periodic Table of Us" display, symbolizing the diversity and unity of the group. Participants will gather to reflect on the display and share insights, followed by time to mingle and enjoy themed snacks.

This session is designed to help participants develop critical leadership skills through the lens of building and maintaining healthy relationships. This workshop will explore the intersection of leadership and interpersonal dynamics, emphasizing how effective leadership skills can be applied to various relationships, both personal and professionally

Join RSC Maya for an art and identity themed event! There will be art supplies and guided prompts on the table for members to think about as they go about starting their art piece. The prompts and questions will focus on empowering residents to express their identities and what make them unique!

The purpose of the Valentine's Day Candy Gram event is to promote community engagement and spread kindness among residents. This event will provide an opportunity for residents to send small treats and heartfelt messages to friends, roommates, and hallmates, fostering a warm and inclusive environment within our dorm community.
