I'll be projecting the game through my computer onto the Thieme Theater screen. Residents will arrive around noon, help themselves to snacks, and watch the game for however long they feel while conversing with their peers!

Join us for a fun event where you can show of your knowledge of your roommate or friend in am altered edition of the Newly-Wed Game!! The group to get the most questions correct will win a blue buck prize that can be spent at university building food courts (The Union or Pierpont!). This will be a great opportunity to learn more about your roommate or friend!

Join us for an exciting Euchre Night on Thursday, September 12th from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM in the Coman Lounge. Whether you’re a seasoned player or new to the game, this is your chance to unwind, socialize, and enjoy some friendly competition.

Euchre is a fun and strategic card game where teams work together to win tricks and score points. Don’t worry if you’re unfamiliar with the rules—we’ll provide lessons to get you up to speed, so everyone can join in the fun. With rotating partners, you’ll have the opportunity to meet different residents while enjoying the game.

Are you looking to personalize your bland dorm door? This Door Decorating Contest gives Cross House Residents the perfect opportunity to show off their skills and personality! The winning door receives a $10 prize in Blue Bucks (split between participating roommates). Submissions will be judged by Cross House RAs, Tessie, Bassem, and Thomas on the basis of creativity and originality. Submissions are due on September 29th via email to teresamo@umich.edu.

On September 30th at 8:30pm, contestants are invited to traverse through Cross House gallery walk style to admire their fellow residents' work. After the gallery walk, the winner(s) will be announced!

This workshop offers a safe, confidential space to reflect on past experiences, work through unresolved feelings, and take steps toward personal healing and reconciliation. 

Monikers is a game in which you are trying to get your teammates to guess as many words or phrases as possible in one minute. The game is played in rounds, using the same pool of words and phrases: In round one, you can give your team verbal hints but must avoid saying the word or phrase they are trying to guess. In round two you must give your team a hint in the form of a single word. In round three, you must act out the word or phrase, charades style. No experience or skills required. Guaranteed to be a hectic, frantic, and thoroughly hilarious time.

Join us in the Community Center to make paper snowflakes and chains to decorate the Community Center for winter! Participants are welcome to make their own origami as well.

Perhaps you’ve seen the popular Japanese snack, onigiri, in anime or perhaps Studio Ghibli’s Spirited Away or maybe your mom used to pack it in your lunch box everyday. Well, now’s your chance to make some for yourself! Get together with your fellow Baits residents in the Coman House kitchen/lounge to craft yourself some delicious onigiri. The snack consists of steamed white rice molded into the shape of your choice to wrap around a variety of fillings and embellished with nori. We will have a vegetarian filling and a smoked salmon filling. Stop in any time between 6:00 and 7:30, while supplies last!

I plan to have doughnuts and cider available for the residents. I will present a slideshow (that I will create) about ways that residents can take care of themselves mentally and physically during the approaching winter months. At the end, I will open up the discussion so that others can share ways that they take care of themselves during the winter months or things that they find difficult about the winter months.

RAs Thomas and Kate will be hosting a safe space for roommates to talk through concerns they've had over the last semester. By completing a guided worksheet, you will be able to identify areas for improvement and develop actionable steps to improve relations with your roommate for next semester.

We're so close to the end of this semester! Hang in there. At our event, students will have the opportunity to write and mail a letter of gratitude to someone who supported them this semester or a letter of self-reflection and resolution setting for next semester.
