The American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and First Aid blended learning course will help prepare you to recognize and care for a variety of breathing and cardiac emergencies in adults, children and infants as well as prepare you to recognize and care for a variety of first aid emergencies. Allow approximately 4 hours to complete the eLearning portions, including the final exam. The eLearning portions of the course must be completed prior to attending the in-person skill session.

Students who successfully complete this course will receive a certificate for CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and First Aid valid for two years. There is no fee for current Department of Recreational Sports employees. The fee for non-employees is $80. A separate email will be sent with payment instructions once you have completed the registration process.

Staff training for new temporary hires with the Department of Recreational Sports. This session will cover overview of our department and go into our values which will lead to our customer service that we provide for our programs, services and facilities!

Official Training for Outdoor Soccer and Flag Football.

The American Red Cross lifeguard training and certification are imperative to the process of getting hired on as an official Red Cross lifeguard. Our detailed blended learning training includes both testing of hands-on skills as well as comprehension on written tests. The certification, which includes First Aid, CPR and AED training, is valid for two years upon completion and is accepted nationwide. Allow approximately 7 hours to complete the eLearning portion which must be completed prior to attending the first day of the course.
**There is no fee for current Department of Recreational Sports employees. The fee for non-employees is $280. A separate email will be sent with payment instructions once you have completed the registration process.**

Our self-defense workshop takes a holistic approach to self-protection, emphasizing awareness and assertiveness skills as well as physical and verbal strategies to counter violence. The goal is to leave you better equipped to deal with everything from harassment to potentially violent people to sexual assault. Participants will take part in verbal exercises, physical drills and discussion.
3 sessions available from November 9, 2019 to April 17, 2020
This course is only available to currently certified lifeguards. Mandatory training dates, must attend ALL sessions.
