During the sessions, we will hear from campus partners as they share tools, resources, and knowledge that may support our well-being. We will also explore how to support well-being during the pandemic and provide resources guides for you to keep.

Dr. Damon Williams

What is Financial Wellness? 

Financial Wellness: Your relationship with money and skills for managing resources, as well as your ability to make good consumer choices and seek out appropriate financial opportunities. 

During this session we will hear from Dr. Damon Williams, financial expert and educator, as he covers resources to help manage your personal finances and build wealth. 

About our speaker: Dr. Williams has a Ph.D. in Industrial and Operations Engineering from the University of Michigan. He is passionate about financial health and building relationships on campus and in church. Learn more about Dr. Williams here. 

This session is in collaboration with Office of Academic Multicultural Initiatives (OAMI), and the Office of Multi-Ethnic Student Affairs (MESA). This event is also a part of the ongoing events hosted by MESA in celebration of Black History Month and as part of OAMI's Men of Color Leading in the Classroom (M-CLIC) initiative.

Joelle Fundaro Randall

Occupational Wellness: The work you choose to do and how it contributes to your community and fulfills you.

During this session we will hear from Joelle Fundaro Randall, U-M Career Center(UCC) Assistant Director, as she guides us through UCC services you need to know AND tools to help you prep for the upcoming Career Fair.

About our speaker: Joelle loves helping students articulate their skills, values, and interests as related to their future careers and passions. She provides 1:1 career counseling to students, and coordinates a variety of workshops, programs, and events. Joelle is passionate about diversity, inclusion, and equity, and helping students realize their potential. Learn more about Joelle here.

Joshua Thurman and Brennan McBeth

Spiritual Wellness: Your understanding of your place and purpose, how you make meaning of what happens to you, and what your mind goes to for comfort or relief.

During this session we will hear from Joshua Thurman, Trotter Multicultural Center Program Manager, and Brennan McBeth, Trotter Multicultural Center Graduate Student, as they guide us through an exploratory conversation on religious and spiritual identity. 

About the speakers: Joshua facilitates cultural engagement and interfaith programing. He is passionate about bringing together students of many identities and encouraging intercultural learning. Learn more about Joshua here. Brennan is a graduate student at the University of Michigan and is pursuing a Master of Arts in Higher Education.

Physical Wellness: The role that you take in maintaining your body for strength, vitality, and energy.
