The Myth of Summer: Prioritizing and Achieving Your Goals In a Culture of Relentless Busyness

Every year, we tell ourselves the same thing: “I’ll do it this summer.” Found an interesting article to read? “I’ll read it this summer.” Need revamp a process or flesh out a big project? Want to rework a job description? Hope to revamp your résumé? “I’ll do it this summer.” Flash forward to August--What do we hear? “Summer went by so fast!” We did not do what we hoped to do. We have fallen prey to the myth of summer again.

Summertime cannot be a productive time for us if we do not have the tools to maximize the summer AND the rest of the year. This working session is an opportunity to take stock of your professional needs and goals for the next six months (and beyond). I will offer adaptable tools for participants to identify both values and action items to be effective in what is most important to you. At the end of the session, participants will have mapped out an individualized plan for at least one longer-term goal and have a foundation to move other work forward. Turn your mentality of “I’ll do it this summer” into “If I stay ready, I don’t have to get ready”!
